May Change System of State Relief
Charleston W Va June 21 A few changes in the system of administering relief in the state appear probable with meetings of state and county welfare units scheduled this week. Francie W Turner acting public welfare director announced the state unemployment relief administration will meet at the capitol Friday to discuss plans and future policies. Turner said no radical changes were contemplated but indicated revisions potential. The administration conference will be followed by a session of county welfare agents at Clarksburg Saturday. Last week Turner announced the state will not borrow federal relief funds but receive them as an outright gift starting July 1 grants will be made quarterly and distributed to counties. He added there probably will be no change in county set ups.
