Forum teaches kids nutrition essentials at Bluefield center
More than 30 children attended a nutrition program at the Bluefield Community Center on Peck Street, with sessions today and tomorrow at Bluefield City Park. Dora Moore, center executive director, said the program fills quickly and a larger space is needed. Willa Gammon coordinated, aided by Judy Hartwell and Susan Gianato of WVU Extension Service, who teach nutritious snacks and craft activities. The center, established in 1918 as a home for unwed African-American mothers, has since expanded to offer diverse community services.
