Cabell Judges Seek Supreme Court Ruling on Gun Permit Authority
Cabell County four judges plan to ask the West Virginia Supreme Court to decide whether circuit judges may issue concealed weapon permits. The judges halted new applications, arguing the 1989 statute is unconstitutional and that issuing permits is not a judicial function. Chief Judge Ferguson backs court review. NRA criticizes the stance.
