An 11 year old boy, Fred Blankenship of Jenkin Jones, died at Bluefield Sanitarium after a pistol wound inflicted during a cowboys and Indians game. He was shot Saturday afternoon near his home by Dudley Gravely, another local child, with the revolver going off during play. His death occurred at 7:30 Sunday evening ending weeks of emergency treatment.
Marysville Ohio reports Velma West, the hammer slayer, escaped from a reform school with three other inmates to seek “one last good time.” West, 26, shown in frail health, reportedly hoped to return if it would not hurt Mrs. Reilley. The four left with keys after lights out, no witnesses.

New York June 19 Frank Morgan testified in federal court that he refused to invest in a Philippine railway bond scheme calling it fantastic He described being asked for 6000 to finance a Buckner trip and named a supposed executive linked to President Manuel Quezon The testimony also brought up other actors and socialites as the trial unfolds before Judge Henry W Goddard.
The House approved by 358 to 1 a revenue bill removing the undistributed profits tax from federal law. The bill now goes to the Senate for quick action and would take effect December 31, ending the levy amid bipartisan support. Rep. Tinkham of Massachusetts cast the lone dissent.
Phoenix carpenter Charley Ross plans to travel with his wife to Philadelphia for remarriage on July 1 in Germantown. He intends to file suit against Walter Ross and his sisters Sophie Christina and Marion for one fourth of a purported 460000 dollar family trust fund linked to the famed 65 year old kidnaping case. The Philadelphia court has not recognized him as a brother of the family.
Chicago report of the death of Dr Grace Abbott aged 60 in Billings Memorial Hospital. Abbott led the US children’s bureau from 1921 to 1934 and later taught at the University of Chicago. She was named one of America’s 12 distinguished women in 1931 and campaigned for a child labor amendment.
