Tazewell County site chosen for Dominion Energy pump storage
Dominion Energy narrows to Tazewell County as the sole site for a 2 billion hydroelectric pump storage facility. The plan promises thousands of construction jobs and significant annual tax revenue for Southwest Virginia, after Wise County’s Bullitt Mine site was ruled unsuitable due to water. Further geotechnical and environmental surveys will proceed on East River Mountain near Bluefield as preparations continue.
