Soviet Cosmonauts Reenter Salyut 6 for 15-Hour Day Schedule
Kovalenok and Ivanchenkov docked Soyuz 29 with the Salyut 6 station after a 25 hour flight from Baikonur. They found the orbital lab in ideal condition, reopened dormant systems, and will conduct earth, atmosphere, astrophysical, materials, and medico-biological experiments on a six day week. The crew succeeds a record setting predecessor and aims for firsts similar to prior Soviet missions.
