Fletcher Burdette, 23, a Baltimore and Ohio railroad carpenter from Parkersburg West Virginia, drowned while trying to rescue Miss Viola Dills after their canoe overturned near Belpre Ohio on Friday the 13th. Burdette bore tattooed lettering Friday a cat and 13 on his arm. His sister Garnette Burdette helped bring Miss Dills ashore. Burdette's body was recovered two hours later. No inquest was planned.
