Third National Poke Salad Bluegrass Festival draws crowds

Greens-Hundreds of Bluegrass purists dodged rain at the Third Annual National Poke Salad Bluegrass and Country Festival at Boissevain Coal Miners Memorial Museum and Park. By noon the park filled as bands from the region performed. Organizers praised the crowd and heritage, noting many locals and visitors returned annually.

Boucher Named Southwestern Virginia Democrats’ Congress Candidate

Princeton marks a return of the Jaycees with charter officers installed by State Jaycee President Sherry Ward. Harold Wolfe III named charter president. other officers include Brenda Pruett Richard Bullins Greg Akers Mark Belcher Kelli Harshbarger Todd Boggess Derrick Leffler and Rick Wagner.
