Giles County Supervisors Panel Debates Road and Fees

Residents in the Trigg area pressed the Giles County Board of Supervisors to fund a one mile hardtop road fully this year with $100,000, arguing that the prior plan of 45,000 yearly would stall the project for two years. The board kept the 45,000 yearly allocation and refused the extra 10,000. The meeting also floated a 15 auto decal fee as a budget option, with other revenue ideas like a utility license tax. Three school board members were reappointed, and repairs to the social services building were approved with a cost rise to about 26,000. A no til seeder for farmers was approved for about 6,000, rented at 10 per hour. The Shute Hollow trash dump issue was deferred for further discussion. The board left the school budget increase at 166,162 over last year.
