Fatal Bluefield truck crash during Mercer Mall traffic

A 53 year old Bluefield man died after his 18 wheeler collided with a preceding truck on U S 460 near Mercer Mall causing a chain reaction with three more vehicles. Francis Ray Moore died at Bluefield Regional Medical Center after rescue crews responded at 1010 hours.

Murder in Buchanan County Virginia man found stabbed in home

Richard Hamilton an 80 year old Tookland resident was found dead with multiple stab wounds Tuesday morning in Grundy Virginia. Deputies say he likely was killed late Monday night or early Tuesday and investigators are pursuing leads. No obvious theft or motive yet. His sister reported him missing and authorities confirmed the scene at his US Route 460 residence near the Little Prater exit.
