Court Revokes Manns License For West Virginia Attorney
The West Virginia Supreme Court revoked the license of Beckley attorney Fletcher W. Mann after his conviction on income tax evasion from 1958 to 1960. Mann pleaded no contest and received a $9,000 fine and two-year sentence, with most of it suspended. The court found moral turpitude justifies license annulment under state bar by laws. Additionally, the court upheld a Kanawha County ruling denying refunds to Owens-Illinois Glass Co. and Libbey-Owens Ford Glass Co. for 1955–1957 business and occupation taxes, reversed to tax producers of manufactured products.
