Six-Room Mercer House and Mobile Home Lost in Mercer County Fire
Fires destroyed a six room house and a mobile home in Mercer County on Monday causing about 25 thousand dollars in losses. The Powder House Hollow blaze on Green Tree to Glenwood Park area damaged a house owned by H B Thompson and sister Mary A Richards with contents valued at 9 00. the Athens Road trailer owned by Dean Burse family was also destroyed. Fire chiefs cited electrical wiring and an oil heater as likely causes.

Bluefielder Bound On Entering Charge
Archie E. Hale age 52 of 308 Douglas Street Bluefield was bound over to the Mercer County Intermediate Court Grand Jury on a charge of entering without breaking. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail and fined 10 dollars on an intoxication charge after a hearing in Princeton. A petty larceny charge was dropped. He was held for the July session of the grand jury.
