Kuwaiti hijacking ends as 112 freed from Beirut to Baghdad flight
Kuwaiti commandos overpowered a hijacker who forced a Middle East Airlines Boeing 707 from Beirut to Baghdad to land at Kuwait International Airport. All 112 passengers and crew were released unharmed after a six hour standoff. the hijacker, Nasser Mohammed Ali Abu Khaled, demanded 1.5 million dollars.
