Virginia towns face a confused election across the state
Voters in about 50 Virginia towns and cities face a disorganized election day as many candidates for town offices failed to file notices with the State Board of Elections by the April deadline. Attorney General J Lindsay Almond Jr ruled the 1954 amendment mandatory, but boards rushed to print ballots with ineligible names.
