Deliberations expected today in sexual assault case
Jurors intend to begin deliberations in the Mercer County sexual assault trial of Robert Hart and Beverly Emory. The defendants, both residents of Mercer County, are accused of abducting a Raleigh County woman and transporting her to a Bluefield house where she was allegedly raped and tortured. Defense lawyers have argued the victim lied and consented, citing mental health treatment history and claimed hallucinations.

A failed transformer at the South Bluefield Power Station near Humana Hospital-St. Luke's cut electricity to about 3,600 customers late Wednesday afternoon. He said there had never been a prior transformer failure that knocked out the entire station.
