Council Session Brief Reports Routinely Taken Up and Disposed
City council held a brief session last night with routine items acted on and disposed. G D Kendricks request to improve Princeton avenue was granted as he plans a future store on the old theater site. Ordinances to improve Walnut street south of Bluefield avenue and the east west alley were defeated. The committee returned those ordinances without report preferring council action on the whole due to finances. Payrolls for the past two weeks were approved and ordered paid. Estimates for repairing the macadam on Wyoming and Monroe streets were sent to the streets and finance committees for report. Part of the repair material was bought last fall and if costs are not excessive the work will be done this season to fill vacancies with experienced band men. Qualified musicians are urged to file applications with Colonel Arnold. the 150th infantry seeks to maintain a strong band as a distinguishing feature.
