Family fights to keep home built on mine site during harsh Christmas
Amid scarce resources and cramped quarters, Mrs. Rose and her eleven children celebrate a makeshift home on a mine site. They survived on welfare under $300 monthly, cherish family ties, and participate in community toy drives as REACT volunteers assist. The piece juxtaposes their hardship with small Christmas joys and spiritual resilience.
