Yankees Sign Collins From Reds In Shift To Speed
The New York Yankees signed free agent Dave Collins, a former Reds leadoff hitter with a .293 career average, in a deal worth upwards of 750000 a year for at least three years. Collins aims to play first base and outfield, calling it a boyhood dream while noting possible extensions to five years. His move sparks questions about Reggie Jackson’s status, with Yankees president Lou Saban stating talks with Jackson continue and Collins not affecting those negotiations.
