Libyan hit team list under scrutiny and doubts rise
U S officials still consider a Libyan plot to kill President Reagan real though a list of 14 suspects is questioned. Columnist Jack Anderson released sketches of five suspects but now doubts the hit squad’s existence. Some listed are Lebanese Shiites tied to Khadafy, while others may be fake or inflated by a con artist. Government sources say CIA and FBI doubt the hit team exists, though Justice Department cites ongoing investigation.
