Bribery trial ends as councilmen deny acceptance of offers
Clarksburg West Virginia December 18 testimony closed in a bribery case against City Councilman Frank O Day former Councilman Joe A Oliverio and others. They say an alleged offer of money came for influence and that no suggestions from them occurred. The jury will hear final instructions Monday before deliberation.

The Jenkinjones West Virginia Parent-Teacher Association held its regular meeting in the school auditorium with Miss Mildred Whitehead's grade receiving the attendance prize. Principal Robert Y. Likens spoke as plans for membership drive were announced. The session closed with refreshments. A junior high PTA meeting was postponed due to road conditions and the absence of Mr Likens. Circles of the W M S held their year end gathering and Pollyanna party, with officers elected. Lucile Rush and William McCormick of Gary wed at Jenkinjones Methodist Church, and a daughter was born to Sam Moore's family.

The Bluefield Community Christmas Tree association advances its 1937 program to bring Santa Claus to about 1,400 needy Bluefield children. A 4 pm WHIB radio program will outline the work and aims. A cedar tree will be erected Monday near Bland and Scott streets and illuminated that night.
