Deputy C L Bennett was beaten by eight drunken men near Simmons and remains home recovering. A separate crash on the Princeton Oakvale road injured Re B Kirk of Pulaski Virginia, who is also in Princeton hospital with head lacerations. Meanwhile Virginian Railway apprentices and guests gathered for a well attended band house banquet with remarks on attitudes toward foremen and cooperation and concluded with a singing ensemble.

Mrs Mary Harman objected to eviction by county officers acting under court orders and was jailed after a court appearance before Judge Howell M Tanner. Bomb Attempts Targeting Two Schools in Grand Forks District
In Nelson British Columbia, alleged attempts to bomb and burn two Doukhobor schools occurred over the weekend. An improvised bomb was found in the Fruitvale school basement with a dead fuse. A candle tied to oil soaked rope and other materials were found under Outlook school steps. The Fruitova device contained an oil can of about 15 ounces of nitroglycerin and dynamite.

Two Boys Drown After Ice Breaks on Greensburg Pond
