In the company of heroes at Riley-West American Legion party

The Riley-West Post of the American Legion held its annual Christmas party at Bluefield City Auditorium drawing veterans and local leaders together. Capt. Kammer, Commander Fleming, Sheriff Buckner and many others shared memories from World War II through Desert Storm as the room sang Silent Night. A turkey buffet, a 100 gift drawing, prayers, and carols created a solemn, festive tribute to veterans described as The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw.
