About 600 coal miners from United Mine Workers Local 619% at Eastern Associated Coal’s No. 1 mine Keystone walked out at midnight Monday over a seniority dispute. Donald Eugene Basham, 32, was found guilty of attempted rape of a 13 year old Norfolk girl and received a life sentence. The assault occurred March 8, 1966, near the George Washington Canal in Chesapeake. Basham claimed he was in Augusta, Georgia.
