Nasdaq near 2000 as stocks rise on productivity data

The Nasdaq composite touched 2,000 for the first time in nearly two years as investors echoed optimism from a 9.4 percent annualized productivity gain in Q3. The Dow neared 10,000, closing mixed after gains and a modest retreat, while the S&P 500 fell slightly.
