Witness in sniper trial Malvo writes of ticking time bomb

In Chesapeake Va a judge barred prosecutors from introducing a Malvo letter described by witnesses as an anguished plea for help. Malvo calls himself a ticking time bomb in the summer 2002 letter written to Muhammad’s niece. The defense argued the note shows his state of mind before the sniper rampage while the prosecution fought to keep the statement out as hearsay. Williams testified she was scared by the letter and that Malvo said he was a ticking time bomb. The judge allowed limited testimony with jurors absent to preserve potential appeal issues.
