Marshall professor to keynote Coal Association dinner
Dr. Michael Hicks of Marshall University will headline the Pocahontas Coal Association dinner at Webster's Restaurant in Bluewell on Thursday August 17. The study he authored, commissioned by the West Virginia Senate Finance Committee, projects the economic impact of mountaintop mining and valley fill rulings by U S District Judge Charles H Haden II. Association president Mark Henshaw says the study is alarming yet valuable for future planning and urges all members to attend.
