Buchanan supervisor faces trial for alleged misused funds
In Grundy Virginia Buchanan County Supervisor William P. Harris faces trial in Buchanan Circuit Court on two counts of alleged public funds misuse. Indicted by a county grand jury in October 1991, Harris is among seven sitting supervisors and four county workers tied to June 5 and 17, 1991, project irregularities in Har district. The grand jury returned 293 indictments. 42 target Harris. Others connected include former Social Services Director Thomas Holland and County Administrator Amond Guy. Some cases were dropped or reduced as part of cooperation with prosecutors. Harris's trial is set to run through Friday.
