Old Settlers of Monroe County Meet at Ketcham Springs
The annual Old Settlers gathering in Monroe County met at Ketcham's Sulphur Springs with Wm. F. Browning presiding. Saturday featured Judge R. W. Miers and Hon. W. A. Ketcham of Indianapolis as speakers. Sunday drew perhaps record crowds, about four thousand, with Rev. R. R. Bryan and Rev. Quincy Short delivering services. The oldest attendee was John Mitchell, over eighty, who settled near Harrodsburg in 1816, two years before county organization.
