A. P. Conner spoke at the Methodist church last night and at the high school this morning. He is to speak at the Christian church this evening and at the Presbyterian church Wednesday evening, with each evening this week at a Bloomfield church to address parents at 7 30 p m.
Indiana University offers emergency courses open to students and Bloomington women. Course II provides first aid with anatomy and wound care for one credit. Courses III to VI cover bandages, civilian relief, social welfare, and hygiene under various instructors.

Mrs. Amanda Carrell died of pneumonia Saturday night at her daughter Mrs. Roy Pritchard's home in South Bloomfield. Survived by sons Charles Carrell Morgantown Ben Carrell Riley Carrell James Carrell and daughter Mrs. Roy Pritchard Bloomfield. Funeral at South Side Mission Church at one o'clock conducted by Rev. J D Smith. Burial at Mt Zion.
Charles Bibos senior partner of Bibos Bros Greek Candy Kitchen and Miss Nellie Thompson were married Saturday night at the home of Mr and Mrs Lester Long. Rev Merritt Owen of the Christian church performed the ceremony. The couple will reside with the Longs before establishing a home.
Indiana reports show one third of dwelling fires this year linked to defective flues with an average loss of 645 dollars. Nine months in 1917 saw 693 fires from bad flues totaling 447593 dollars, plus 1054 fires from shingle roofs costing 246044 dollars.

The couple will reside at 3106 McPherson Ave Indianapolis where Nolin directs the Monon Railroad Co supply department. Out of town guests included Laurette Nolin and other relatives from Indianapolis Vincennes Fowler Worthington.
The sinking of the U S transport Antiles by a German submarine with returning soldiers, including Private Roy Cottrell of Clinton, prompts fears for another local soldier, Stanley Taylor. Reports note Cottrell’s unit is unknown and his fate remains unconfirmed.
Mrs. Jeiza Gainey marked her eighty sixth birthday last Sunday October 28 at her home. A family reunion included L. C. Will R Vosloh was sworn in as prosecuting attorney succeeding Curtis C Hendren after a GOP feud over the appointment. Vosloh, Republican county chairman and partner in Slinkard Vosloh, will lead the office from rooms 1 and 2 upstairs in the opera house building. the firm splits, continuing civil and probate work while criminal matters shift to the prosecutor.

A telegram received in Linton on Saturday from Prof. Christian Danielson announced the serious illness of Mrs. Danielson in East Orange New Jersey. The message requested Rolff Danielson to come at once. Dr Elmer R Cravens of Linton who suffered paralysis last week shows slow improvement. W Nathan V Slinkard of Newberry also had a light stroke last week and remains about the same at eighty two years old. Ed Sanders fell from a train at Linton station last Sunday night was hospitalized and sent home today with minor injuries.
