John Gheen a well known Fairplay township farmer died at his daughter Mrs Asbury Hains home where he had lived for months Paralysis was the cause and he had been bedfast since May He was seventy four and survived by six children and one foster child Funeral services were held at the Hains home then at Castle Hill.

An automobile carrying seven relatives collided with a Vandalia freight train at the South Linton crossing. Mrs. Anna Suthard died at Freeman City Hospital about an hour after arrival. Her son Clayburn and four others were seriously injured. three others escaped with minor hurts as the car was dragged along the track and demolished.
