Product Show Crowds Attend County Exhibit and Antique Display
The first annual Product Show drew ideal weather and large crowds, with strong displays in poultry, fruits, grains, vegetables, culinary arts, and domestic science. Livestock, hogs, horses, mules, and cattle varied in quality. An extensive antique exhibit featured items from 1700s to 1800s including a Washington death notice, family heirlooms, and relics from local families. Parade scenes, veterans, Boy Scouts, and Indians in costume highlighted the event, while premiums were not yet announced.

The Switz City mill, owned by Linton Mill Co and David Terhune, was totally destroyed by a Monday night fire discovered around 10:30. The mill made livestock feed and much grain was lost though little feed was stored. origin unknown as workers left in the afternoon. Insurance covered stock and building.
