Linton man Thomas Kenney was arrested in Bicknell Tuesday night on a charge of assault and battery with intent to kill. The trouble began over games owed at a pool room owned by Phillip Nicholas. Kenney struck Nicholas on the head with a pool cue, crushing his skull. He was released under a $500 bond.

A small blaze sparked Friday around two o clock in a house owned by C. E. Davis and occupied by Mr. Miller. A zinc covered stove board used to cover a former grate ignited by soot in the flue. Mrs. Miller was alone but kept the fire under control until help arrived. Little damage resulted.
