Fatal Shot Kills Unborn Child and Injures Bride
Mrs Ethel Marshall of Brazel Diana a newlywed was shot by her husband Alex Marshall a coal miner at Eppert Coal Company Saturday. The unborn child died and the mother was seriously hurt though the shooting was described as accidental. The mother Emma Brown questioned her statements suggesting possible developments. She was taken to Rawley Hospital where doctors searched for the bullet.

Letsinger driving north in a Buick with wife and sister in law Mrs. Mattie Osborn tried to turn onto Mechanic street and was struck by a high speed runabout driven by Mr. Barker of Richmond headed to Burns City. No injuries but axle damage to Letsinger car and minor damage to the runabout. Last Sunday A. D. Haig tried to pass Miss Josephine Adams and drove near an embankment his car fell into a hole needing aid with W. M. Haig assisting.

Dexter Fitzpatrick Faces Parole Violations After Arrest
Dexter Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty to automobile theft and received a suspended sentence of one to 14 years plus $10 costs from Judge Pulliam in Vigocourt. Soon after parole release he was arrested in Washington Indiana for allegedly cutting his wife with intent to kill, leaving Mrs. Fitzpatrick seriously injured. Deputy Sheriff Roberts of Vigo County sought Fitzpatrick's return to Terre Haute to answer parole violation charges.

Boy is accidentally shot at grandfathers home in Elnora
Twelve year old Elmer Thompson, visiting Hastings farm in Elnora, was accidentally shot in the right side by a rifle after dinner while playing in the yard. The non serious wound required hospital care in Linton. Parents Mr and Mrs Jasper Thompson hurried home from Indianapolis and Pittsburgh as news arrived.

Romeo R. Backenstoe died Sunday at 70 from a stroke after three months illness. He moved to Bloomfield in 1870 and lived 46 years there plus eight months in Vincennes. Survived by widow, son William, daughter Bessie Evans, and grandson Embra Evans. Funeral Monday at 4 pm. interment Grandview Cemetery.

In Cass township Sullivan County six precincts from Dugger to Jencho reported 1186 votes with 439 wet and 697 dry. The drys won by 258 votes in a election long dominated by saloon history, noting 1914 marked ten saloons voted out by 28 votes.
