Greene County Circuit Court filings include multiple foreclosures with judgments ranging from $18.33 to $266.54, a number of accounts and dismissals for lack of prosecution, and a divorce case alleging cruel and inhuman treatment. A serious auto accident near Bloomfield left Frank Dean injured and charred by the wreck, with neighbor aid and medical attention sought.
The Vandalia Railroad Company appeals a jury verdict that awarded Fry $1250 for an injury to his foot suffered while employed by the railroad.
Fisherman Peggy Bonham of Linton was landed in Dixon jail Tuesday by Fish and Game Wardens. Accused of illegal fishing, his camp was found in the McMackal bottom and one net was burned in the jail furnace.
Bloomfield won the series this season by taking two of three from Linton after a 14 inning showdown. Linton scored in the 50th and another in the 170th, while Bloomfield tied it late and broke ahead in the final half. Spinks joins infield, Huff Specials visit next Sunday for a fast game.
Mrs. Julia Collins and daughter Dorothy Fod drill of Tanner quilted fifty two quilts tacked nine comforts and wove four hundred sixty five yards of carpet and rugs in 1915. In the past six months they quilted thirty two quilts made two spreads and wove two hundred sixty five yards. Miss Nevil Thompson will travel to Celina Ohio for her brother Orland Thompson's wedding to Miss Louetta Cordier at nine Saturday morning. Louella Cordier is maid of honor and Clarence Leifeld is best man. The couple will then go to Chicago where he manages the Harry Newman Motor Car Advertising Agency.
A girl was born on July 9 to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brown of Highland township. The birth details list only the parents and birth date with no additional information.
The 8315 foot vessel with 30 foot beam sailed 4000 miles in sixteen days carrying 750 tons of dyestuffs and chemicals. Allied cruisers tracked her off the American coast as she entered Chesapeake Bay, raising questions if she is a merchantman or war craft.
An empty box car jumped the track near the brick yard on the S C railroad last week. The crew overturned the car to clear the track with no further damage reported.
In 1888 Miss Mattie Draim aided a hungry tramp in Vincennes leading to a later will claiming all his property for her. The subsequent 1910 succession, in Evansville, valued at $85 000, saw relatives contest the document but the Indiana Supreme Court upheld it. Last Saturday night the Hobbleville Masonic Lodge performed the third degree with a large crowd gathering despite heat. Under Master James M. Hudson the work proceeded, followed by a fish fry and squirrel meal on the lawn. Attendees from Bicknell, Bloomington, Bloomfield, Lyons, Solsberry, and others shared in the festivities. James Gastineau, a Mason for thirty years, and Henry Lawrence, with near perfect attendance, participated.
Mrs C E Dixon Jr and two Bloomington women were returning from a ball game when their horse bolted on Franklin Street. The buggy struck a box car, causing minor bruises to all passengers. Garfield Dugger led the horse home as the shafts broke when it balked and fell back.
Joseph W. Smith of Jasonville shot himself in the right temple at 3 30 Sunday afternoon and died instantly. He was a steeplejack and painter with a wife running a second hand furniture store. He leaves a wife and two small children and carried about 1000 dollars in life insurance. Coroner B Collins ruled it death by his own action. The body will be taken to Terre Haute for interment.
A meeting of committees from various churches at the Baptist church Tuesday afternoon resolved to hold weekly union meetings for the young people of all churches each Sunday evening.

Amid talk of intervention, soldiers are noted as healthy, disciplined, and prepared. a humorous roll call incident is recorded. A Greene County reunion is planned in Indianapolis with officers named and a July gathering set at Brookside Park.
Two barns owned by Henry Switz on Bee Hunter marsh farm burned last Friday. Occupants Fred Sheffler and his daughter were nearby when a child playing with matches caused the fire. Switz carried $100 insurance. Sheffler's losses, including feed harness and tools, about $200 with insurance. A young man employed by Sheffler lost a buggy in the blaze.
County commissioners in session last week filed a petition for a writ of mandate against Ogle Land Co and the Goose Pond Reclamation Association. They demand construction of a 60 foot steel bridge over a ditch opened along an improved highway without delay.
The Presbyterian church held a memorial service last Sunday for former pastor Dr L P Marshall and longtime elder R E Eveleigh. G H Humphreys delivered a short address.
A Thursday program offers an afternoon Introductory Exercises Grand Concert and a Children’s Hour with "American Birds in Story Land" by Miss Grace Gallett, priced 35 cents for adults and 15 cents for children. An evening concert features a lecture "The Man Who Can" by William Rainey Bennett, with admission 59 cents for adults and 25 cents for children.
Papers sent to Woodmere Evansville listMont Mal and John W Middleton of Worthington and Verlin Minks of Jasonville as admitted to the hospital for the insane. They remain in county jail awaiting admission.
Aaron Buller Lewd Aarean Fuller a young farmer died Monday and was buried Wednesday at Walnut Grove Cemetery. He had been ill for some time and had to quit his studies in Terre Haute due to health. He was bedbound for a week and his death was anticipated by relatives and friends. He leaves a wife and three children.
J. B. Flater and Son erect a new brick business block at Monon Depot measuring 52 by 50 feet. It will house three rooms with Flater's general store, a barber shop, and a restaurant. South Bloomfield shows steady growth and keeps pace with the main town.
The Dorcas Society of Salsberry held an all day meeting at Mrs. Eva Glover's home to celebrate her birthday on Friday July 7. Forty four members attended the lawn dinner and afternoon business session led by president Mrs. Oscar Yoho with out of town guests from Bloomfield Switz City Bloomington Linton and others.
