Camp Zachary Taylor Ky Dec 8. Scores of Indiana soldiers in training will spend Christmas week at home if plans of the general staff are carried out. Every man in camp is to get a seven day furlough between now and Feb 2 1918. A lottery will decide who gets Christmas week. After February 2 no furloughs will be granted. Officers and men are included. About ten percent are already at home or en route and officials say furloughs will not be universal.

Nathan V. Slinkard aged about eighty two of Newberry died last Sunday at 8:00 am. He was the father of W. L. Slinkard T. E. Slinkard C. E. Slinkard S. W. Slinkard and Mrs. V. F. Spooner. Funeral was held today at the Luthern church in Newberry at 1:30 pm. Interment followed at the S. A. Slinkard cemetery west of town.
