Women who refused lost a personal opportunity, while officials may claim to protect citizens during the crisis.

The Temple of Justice letter warns Greene County lawyers that the September term 1917 will be swift with only seven weeks and about 150 civil cases on docket. Criminal naturalization sessions begin September 4. attorneys urged to bring clients who intend to plead guilty to first day to avoid delays. Labor Day acts as a partial court day until noon.

Lydia Abram sought a declaration of unsound mind, and Maud Hamilton filed for divorce from Caleb Hamilton with a custody request for a two year old boy. Howard Hatfield sues for 10000 damages from William S. Dye after an incident on November 18, 1915, alleging a permanent injury from being struck with a stone.
Jury commissioners selected the September term petit jury listing 16 named residents from Wright Center Smith Stockton Highland Stafford Washington and Grant with Jackson noted as ill and unable to serve.
