Appointment of officers for the new army at Ft Benj Harrison

The secretary of war approved officer appointments for the officers training camp at Ft Benjin Harrison after board review and General Edwin F. Glenn's backing. Indiana and Kentucky troops will form the new national army division. Greene county men named include Rollie R. Cook of Linton as Captain and Kenneth Ovle of Linton as First Lieutenant in the infantry, Paul Y. Davis of Bloomfield as Captain, and Daniel C. McIntosh of Worthington as Second Lieutenant.

Exemption Claims Tally From Conscription Board Session

The conscription board reported 122 men passed with no exemption claim, 136 rejected for disabilities, and 297 passed who claimed or would claim exemption. Thirty-eight failed to appear.
