A fire in Tulip Indiana destroyed R S Brammer's stock valued at eight to ten thousand dollars along with the store building and a hay filled barn. An account in the Sullivan Democrat says the Jones farm in Gill township Sullivan county boasts the largest silo in the United States perhaps the world. The 110 foot high concrete silo with a 52 foot diameter and 24 foot cupola features a brave climb by Miss Hallie Evans to hoist a handkerchief flag atop the cupola. The Jones farm uses gasoline tractors to run machinery, with three horses kept for errands.

Farm couple killed crossing railroad track in Indiana
Lee Small and his wife were struck by an east bound passenger train while crossing the I and W railroad at Bicknell last Thursday. Small and the horse died instantly, Mrs. Small died Thursday night from injuries. Their young family faced a second tragedy with the death of their only child about a week earlier.
