Territorial Committee to Meet in Bismarck on March 30

Trial of Willian Welch for Libel of Interior Vilas Opens

March 15 in Hennepin county district court the trial of William Welch Minneapolis attorney charged with libel of Secretary of the Interior Vilas began. Welch in Home Daily alleged Vilas and others at Madison 1874 75 as director of Madison Life Insurance wrecked the company and diverted surplus to directors without legal authority. Disfigured for life by Springfield doctor attack

A Springfield physician Dr. Cox is accused of mayhem after luring Effie Ellis from St Louis with telegrams signed in his son’s name. Fire destroys several buildings in Roscoe town

Fire this morning in Roscoe destroyed the Edmunds house Burker's meat market LG Sunn's dwelling J W Brookbank's general store the post office and Wake's store. Estimated losses around $6000 with little insured, flames started in the rear of Calbur's famous Gree unknown.

Poisoned by head cheese in sTON and three die feared

March 15 reports say Mr and Mrs Doyle their two children and Mr and Mrs Adams boarders ate head cheese from Chicago and were poisoned with two Adams and the children near death. The text also notes a mob tarred and feathered two Mormon elders near Briar Ridge school before they fled toward the Ohio River and Blaine plans to arrive in New York after the Republican convention in excellent health.
