Nine Intruders Reported in Chickasaw Nation by Agent Bennett

Agent Bennett telegram from Pauls Valley reports after a thorough probe with 100 Chickasaw scouts a territory of fifty miles, only nine intruders found in the Chickasaw nation. Six given ten days to gather cattle and leave, one captured, two placed with Chickasaw militia for removal to Oklahoma. Chickasaw authorities say 300 intruders exist. many names fictitious or non-permitted, and some elders receive pensions. The agent accuses Chickasaw officials of distributing permits improperly.
