Harry Wadsworth was freed at a preliminary hearing before Justice A B Carter after County Attorney J T Vaughan moved to dismiss for lack of sufficient evidence. He faced involuntary manslaughter charges for a bullet that killed Joseph Leek on train No 5 on October 16. six state witnesses testified, nine defense witnesses were present but deemed unnecessary. 900 Tons Beets Shipped to Billings
The Billings sugar factory receives beets from Briggs-Ellis Ed West and Alex Duffy farms. About 500 tons are ready to load as the total crop this year nears 9,000 tons grown on three ranches. A track extension to the dump is being built to load cars and delays due to railway work have caused extra labor.

State Meeting of Congregationalists at Missoula
The state meeting of Congregational churches at Missoula closed a fruitful year with over twenty four new churches organized in two years and three new church buildings near dedication. Rev Dr H H Thoren was elected Moderator for the year and to preach the dedicatory sermon next year at Great Falls where a 35000 church will be ready. Thoren chairs the course of study committee and serves on evangelism and benevolences committees as invitations come for services including a dedication at Roundup.

Big Cattle Shipment From Leopold Ranch to Billings
Tuesday Scarlett and Van Cleve loaded 1420 head of range cattle that Fraser Bros of Billings acquired in a large land deal last June taking over the Leopold ranch on Battle Creek. The herd was moved from Dorsey to the shipping point. Calves will be wintered near Melville by W. H. Donald. Fraser Bros will feed the cattle on sugar beets at Billings before shipping to Chicago.
