Carl Larsen 51 was found dead in a Laurel hotel room with a cord around his neck in a suspected suicide. He had been in Laurel three weeks after recent expulsion over drinking and liquor smuggling to a city jail inmate, according to local officers and coroner F. M. Smith. Larsen had worked six months in Sheridan, Wyoming, and traveled widely since emigrating from Norway in 1903. He claimed no relatives.

Dana Walters a famed well shooter from Kevin Sunburst field and Wyoming was killed in a massive blast two and a half miles north of Shelby Montana.
