Edgar Wagner of the National Army refused an exemption granted on industrial grounds and joined the second draft contingent leaving for American Lake last Thursday. Sweet Grass county officials praised the move while the district draft board noted many drafted men rush ahead of their turn. A recruiting officer will be sent from Helena to the county to enlist men for infantry engineering quartermaster medical and aviation branches.

Grady Langston of Fish Creek died in a car crash near Harlowton when lights failed and the vehicle toppled off a grade. Accompanied by Thomas Page, Langston died en route to the home of his parents. Funeral services were held at the Langston home with interment on the ranch cemetery. Langston, born April 22 1889 in Clayton Georgia, moved to Montana in 1908 and is survived by his widow, two small children, four brothers, and a sister.
