Suspect Nabbed in Timber Bar Larceny Case
Charles Rader, confined in the county jail, will face district court October 19 to plead to grand larceny charges. He allegedly took $73 in cash, a pistol, and a rifle from the Timber Bar where he worked as a bartender. Rader was captured in Logan after leaving Big Timber with a Spokane man. the Spokane visitor was not implicated. Sheriff’s officers later transported him from Bozeman to Big Timber.

Record goat hunt may set weight and horn size marks
Paul Frazee a former Big Timber resident now in Livingston secured a goat permit and went after a big goat not the head. He left the head in the mountains and a bear carried it away before he returned. Since resuming drills on September 12 the Co B National Guard unit has added six new members amid a state wide recruiting push. The 210th Engineer battalion competitions prize units with the highest enlistment gains as Big Timber Anaconda Butte and Livingston units compete. Current strength stands at 33 with four more to be sworn in Monday bringing tally to 37 of a 40 man goal. Weekly meetings Monday at 7 30 proceed with engineer intelligence first aid and maintenance training plus cooking for mess personnel. Next six drills emphasize marksmanship with M1 rifles and carbines on an open range in mid November.
