Bozeman Mont Nov 22 approximate half the Gallatin elk herd was killed in the hunting season ended Sunday. The checking station near Gallatin canyon logged 844 animals since opening. The herd was last estimated at 1900 and the season was extended to reach a target of 400 to reduce the herd to available range. Weather and hunting conditions then pushed the kill higher before the three day closing notice elapsed.

Dog Saves Family Of Six From Fire
Roundup, Nov. 24. Mrs. Frank Grubb and five children escaped death when a ranch home 10 miles north of Roundup burned. Their dog woke Mrs. Grubb by licking her face at about 10 o clock, letting them flee as flames engulfed the house and only a few clothes were saved.

Baker Man Says He Hit Anaconda Resident
Henry F. Martinson of Baker, age 30, told Sheriff T. F. Walsh he was driving the car that struck and killed John F. Regan, 65, of East Park avenue in Anaconda Montana. He reported the vehicle was nearly atop Regan before impact and was in a nervous state after the collision. An all night search for the vehicle with a missing headlight followed the fatal wreck.
