Football Team Honored at Dinner
The Sweet Grass County High School Herder football team, 1971 District champions, were feted at Fryes Cafe in a community dinner sponsored by Starr Ford and Fryes Inc. Attendees included varsity lettermen, cheerleaders, managers, coaches and spouses. Each player received a hand carved leather wallet while coaches got shirts presented by team captains.

The Stockade Schoolhouse in Sweet Grass county, once slated to move as a pig palace, is to remain on its hilltop site as a memorial to Gene Ross and home steaders. Mrs Dea Hedrick bought it after a farewell dance in 1970 and plans open occasions for old timers and former pupils.

Thanksgiving Invitational Tourney Opens Season in Big Timber
The 1971 high school basketball season kicks off in Big Timber with a four team Thanksgiving Invitational. Friday features Bridger vs Bozeman Rosary at 7:30 p.m. and Big Timber vs Three Forks at 9:00 p.m. Saturday pits Friday losers at 7:30 and championship at 9:00. Tickets are $1 adults and 50 cents students. no reserved seats. Halftime acts include Big Timber Cheerleaders and Girls Drill Team.

She plans to attend Montana State University for physical therapy.

FHA Convention Elects Officers in District Session
The Future Homemakers of America district convention met in Bridger on Saturday November 13 with eight chapters represented. Seventeen members of the local SGHS chapter attended.
