A two car collision 13.2 miles west of Big Timber on Saturday morning left 4 month old Sarah Cosgriff and Eugene T. Allen dead. The Cosgriff car, headed west, was struck head on by a 4 wheel drive Scout driven by Walter Moore both of Memphis.

Radiosonde Finds Over Montana with Weather Bureau Ties
Siblings Bob and Bill Holmberg and guest Jim Bohlander found a radiosonde ground near Swamp Creek in the Crazy Mountains. The device, released from Great Falls, transmits upper air data used for weather forecasts and flight safety.

Managing Editor Named at Pioneer
Russ Wells of Livingston has been named managing editor of The Big Timber Pioneer announced Stanley E. Tichenor owner of the newspaper. Wells 25 has been managing editor of the Livingston Enterprise and Park County News since April 1970. His duties include writing photography and advertising. He will operate Timber Photo Service from the Pioneer office offering color and black and white photography in the Big Timber area. Wells a Minnesota native attended Dickinson State College and began his career at the Dickinson Press later editing the Sidney Herald before moving to Livingston. He and his wife Linda have two daughters Sheri and Kristi and the family lives at Al's Trailer Court in Big Timber.

Special Christmas tree uprooted by safety removal
The 42 year old Christmas tree nurtured in Dr. J. D. Herries yard on Seventh Ave was removed after a broken section prompted safety measures. Robert Bray originally planted the tree, which stood as a local landmark now cleared from the property for order and future holiday displays.

Wool Growers Set Annual Meet Here
The Sweet Grass County Wool Growers plan their annual meeting and noon dinner on Saturday December 4 at Frye's Cafe banquet room. Bland Lee of Old Republic Insurance Co will speak on Other Land Income Sources with Sen Bill Lowe and Forest Service officials in attendance. Entertainment by Make It With Wool contestants under Mrs Virgil Gust, Beans Tronrud to provide music, and Marlis Arneson to display wool items. Earlier, Boots Bruner lost control of his car 22 miles south of Big Timber on the Boulder road and was treated at Sweet Grass Community Hospital for a head cut. patrolman Richard Henthorn investigated.
