Mrs Katie Gunderson Black became the bride of Marvin Gunderson on May 14 in a dawn ceremony at the Lutheran parsonage officiated by Rev Ocee Johnson. Attendants included Dr Vernon Standish and Mrs Ocee Johnson. A 2 PM dinner for twenty was held at Mrs Charlotte Pettit's home. The couple plans a near future wedding trip. Rites in Rapelje for Carl Dallmann at 96
Funeral services held in Rapelje Wednesday for Carl Dallmann 96 who died Sunday at his farm east of Rapelje. Attendees from Big Timber included William Kirchner and the Burmeister and Kirchner families. The Rev. John Douglas officiated. Dallmann born in Germany January 6 1868 came to Wisconsin in 1872 and moved to Rapelje in 1910. Survived by two sons Carl and William and a daughter Emma Gorr.

About 500 spectators watched 100 contestants in the Ropin' n Ridin' club meet at the fairgrounds Sunday. Lloyd Ford of Melville won the $100 silver dollars prize. Winners include Lee Smoot and Glen Mothershead in the half mile open, Jon Van Daveer and Sonny Fan in the rescue, Gary Wacker and Dick Anderson in the saddle horse, Jimmie Zook and Dee McBride tied in the barrel race with Arlene Haugland third, and team ties led by Dick Curtis Jim McManis of Cody. Calf roping top finishers were Dan Leadbetter Ennis and Larry McComb. In the feature, Dick Anderson in a chariot lost to Cort Strobel in a car over 220 yards.

Duvendack to Retire from Gallatin Forest Service
George H. Duvendack, supervisor of the Gallatin National Forest since 1957, will retire from the Forest Service next month. His career began in 1927 with seasonal work on the Lolo National Forest, and he has served over 35 years, including as chief of the communications section since 1950. He and his wife will remain in Bozeman.

Memorial Day Ceremonies Planned in Big Timber
The American Legion and auxiliary will hold Memorial Day events on Saturday May 30 with a 10 a.m. military parade starting at the Cort Hotel on McLeod Street led by Ralph Prather. The parade proceeds to Fourth Avenue Anderson Legion Memorial building cemetery for rites and a water-tribute at Yellowstone Bridge. Legionnaires and Boy Scouts participate. spectators are asked to salute the flags.

Miss Astrid Allestad daughter of Mr and Mrs Ludvig Allestad wed William Lawrence Lorash son of Mrs Violet Lorash at Big Timber Lutheran church on May 16. About 200 relatives attended the 8 o clock ceremony officiated by Rev Johnson. White gladioli and blue carnations adorned the altar as Oddlaug Stone played selections and Mrs Svend Maitland sang. The bride wore a white taffeta gown with long sleeves fitted bodice scoop neckline and a veil with seed pearl crown.
