Baccalaureate Address Draws Large Crowd
Rev. E O Erickson delivered the baccalaureate address at the Lutheran church closing commencement week. The church brimmed with graduates and friends, colors in green and white, with a full orchestra. The message urged perseverance, faith, and running the race of life with strength from God. It spoke of Abraham Moses and other biblical heroes and urged Sweet Grass County High School Class 08 to continue their work beyond graduation as Age quod ageis.

Heavy rain and mountain snowmelt turned Lower and Upper Deer creeks into torrents washing away fields grain and gardens. County Commissioner John T Esp lost residence and barn as cattle and vehicles flooded, while sheep were saved with hard work. Bridges were destroyed stalling rail traffic and rivulets and washouts distressed ranches across both valleys.

Major Benson Announces Large Hotel at Mammoth Hot Springs
Major Harry C. Benson, superintendent of Yellowstone, said in Livingston work will begin this season on a new large hotel at Mammoth Hot Springs to replace the present structure. The old hotel will be removed after the new building is completed and park traffic is expected to be heavier than ever.
