Dale Carnegie Course Closes With Banquet
Members of the Dale Carnegie course and their guests celebrated graduation with a banquet at the Congregational church last Thursday. Instructor Alan R. Annis of Billings and the Homeland Circle organized the event with speeches, diploma presentations, and closing remarks. The Big Timber class had 44 members, 25 with perfect attendance, and four hour sessions over 14 weeks with some participants joining from other towns.

Summer Band Program Set to Begin June 1
All high school band members twirlers and incoming eighth graders will have the first rehearsal for the rodeo parade on Thursday evening June 1 at 7 p m at the high school. After the parade, sessions resume Tuesday June 13 at 7 p m and continue each Tuesday night for new students joining the high school band and current members seeking extra instruction.

Memorial Day Service in Big Timber by American Legion
Memorial Day events in Big Timber include a 10 a m parade starting at the Cort hotel led by Ralph Prather. Marchers meet at 9 45 a m with a route via McLeod street Fourth Avenue Anderson Street to the Legion Memorial building for a short address by Rev. Ocee Johnson. The procession will proceed to the cemetery for rites and then to the Yellowstone bridge to cast flowers. Scouts and color guards will participate and spectators are asked to salute the flags.

Florence Steensland to Wed Robert Reynolds in June

Lindleys Move to Columbus after Eight Years in Big Timber
Rev J D Lindley, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren church in Big Timber for eight years, is assigned to the Columbus and Absarokee churches. He and his family will move next week to Columbus. Rev Frank Clingman of Columbus will lead the local EUB parish, with his first sermon on June 4. The Lindleys arrived from Bozeman on June 4, 1953, and Lindley has served on the camp board and camp executive committee, helped build structures at the camp, and worked on the new parsonage at Fourth and Bramble, completed in 1956. He begins his 29th year in active EUB ministry in Montana this year and is a Westmar College graduate.

Funeral Services for Love Infant Dolores Ann Howe
Dolores Ann Howe premature infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Howe passed away Saturday at Community hospital. Funeral services were held Monday at the Lowry Chapel with Rev. Paul Sea graves officiating. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery. Born May 16 at Community hospital the infant is survived by two brothers David and Daniel and maternal grandmother Mrs. Delia Plaggemeyer.

To Observe Poppy Day Here Saturday
The American Legion Auxiliary will observe 1961 Poppy day on Saturday May 27 to honor more than 500000 Americans who died and nearly 1000000 wounded in World Wars and the Korean conflict. Poppies made by disabled veterans will be worn as memorials and as tribute to the disabled. Red paper poppies are from Fort Harrison Veterans hospital. Volunteers from the Auxiliary donate their time for this annual program.

Flanagans Buy Huysers Ranch Near Big Timber
Mr and Mrs Quincey J Huys er sell their ranch twelve miles north of Big Timber to Lewis Flanagan of Roberts. The Huysers and ten children will move to Willow Creek once the deal closes. The Flanagans have lived in the Inez Jarrett house with four children for thirteen years.
